Mary Lou Veale was born on May 23, 1932 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Luther Hamilton & Mary Alice Veale. She was the third of four children.
In 1950 she married Ralph Sydnor and the couple moved to Kentucky. In 1951 they had their first child, Karen. In 1954, their second, another girl, Peggy was born. However, the marriage didn't last and the couple divorced.
On May 12, 1956, Mary Lou married Harlen Richard Nelson. In December Mary Lou gave birth to her first son, Harlan Richard Nelson Jr, "Sonny". For the next six years the family grew with the addition of Susan ("Suzie"), Marjorie ("Genie"), Claude Edward ("Eddie") and Mary Jo ("Josie").
By 1970 the family had moved to Hillsboro, Oregon. Mary Lou "Tudy" began working at the Hillsboro Day & Night Telephone Answering Service owned by her husband's aunt Kathleen Huff. In 1976 Kathleen sold the business and Mary Lou followed briefly. Next she found a job at D & G Telephone Answering Service but left that job due to illness.
Mary Lou enjoyed painting, driving bus for special needs children, going out with her husband to the Eagles club and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
In 1976 Mary Lou was diagnosed with cancer.
Sadly, she lost her battle on the evening of December 14, 1978.
